Book Boys and Valentine’s Day!

Book Boys and Valentine's Day! (1)

Hey, Bookworms!

It’s Jesse here. It’s that time of year again where everywhere you go there are gigantic hearts, chocolate, cinnamon hearts, stuffed animals with cheesy sayings, and all those happy in-love couples. BLEH

I’m kidding about the last part… maybe. No for real, if you have been lucky enough for to find that special someone you can see spending your future with, then I am happy for you. As for me, well… let’s just say I’m bad at love.

But there is a solution for people like me. And it’s none other than the dreamy, book boys from our favorite stories. That’s right folks, you heard me. I have a slew of fictional boyfriends that I only know about. But I thought it would be fun to spill the beans today, just in time for Valentine’s. And who knows, maybe I’m not the only one?

Magnus – Falling Kingdoms

Of course I have a book boyfriend from my all time favorite YA fantasy series. Magnus is the epitome of the brooding bad boy prince with such frustratingly beautiful range of emotions that will make you fall for him in no time. Seriously.

How can a guy be so dark and broody one moment, and then a sweet romantic the next?

Arcus – Frostblood

You are going to notice somewhat of a pattern here with the boys I tend to choose/fall for in books. Yup. Another bad boy brooding prince.

But to be fair his character quickly grows into this giant teddy bear with so many emotions that I just want to squeeze him so tight. He is stubborn, hence why it was a little frustrating to see him hide his feelings for the MC, but you could tell he cared immensely for her.

Simon – Simon Vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda

This list wouldn’t be complete without my little Simon. Seriously.

If I didn’t already fall in love with his character from the book, the movie made me love him even more! I connected with him on many levels. It was like I was falling for myself, as creepy as that sounds. But his was adorable and dorky, funny and sweet, and I’m glad he got a happy ending.

Darrow – Red Rising

Now it’s time for a man to step up! That’s right. The space reaper. To be honest, I don’t know why I fell for his character so hard. He makes so many bad decisions, and at times can be viewed as an anti-hero.

But I guess all in all, it comes down to an emotional level. He fights for what he believes in, and doesn’t stop until he has conquered. Or maybe it’s just a pure attraction. Because I can definitely see a Chris Hemsworth type actor play him in any adaptations. HAHA. Yum.

August – This Savage Song

Now I think August is the most broody boy on my list. You can literally breath in his sorrow throughout the duology. He is such a tortured soul that I can’t help but want to pick him up and put him in my pocket for safe keeping.

Let’s not forget that he plays the violin. That’s sexy. Minus the part where he will steal your soul in the process…
