And if he can learn to believe in what he can’t see: the universe, aliens…love…then maybe the impossible is possible, after all.

Sad rose: This is the last rose from a beautiful bouquet a friend gave me last weekend for a performance. It doesn’t even have a scent anymore but I will hold onto it until every last petal falls off.
To-do list: My grandmother used to salvage every bit of scrap paper for her to-do lists, whether it was a flyer that came in the mail, the back of an envelope or an old card. I take it one step further and staple the sheets together to make them into mini pads of paper.
Best pen ever: Pentel, fine point, black. Every other pen pales in comparison. Plus I love the clear plastic so I know when it’s about to run out.
Jump drive: Contains all my books, notes, outlines, etc. Should probably not be sitting out in the open or left somewhere it could get damaged or lost. And yet…here it is.
View 1: To my right is a window onto my mini-patio where I have some dried-up tomato plants and a set of table and chairs where I can drink my coffee and watch the dogs walk by.
View 2: Directly in front of me is a window onto the street where I can watch the dogs walk by. Yep, it’s all about the dogs in this neighborhood.
Stapler combo: I use the stapler (see above about my to-do lists made of scrap paper) but the pencil sharpener is pure nostalgia. I don’t think I even own a pencil. The last time I plugged it in was to sharpen my eye liner.
VIP object: Holds coffee. Says Gilmore Girls on it. Need I say more?
Treats: This used to hold sugarless gum but now it holds whatever I want as a snack while I write. Some days I fill it with grapes; some days, it’s Fritos. It’s never empty.
