Hey Bookworms!
I don’t know about you guys, but I love fashion just as much I like books. Am I though only one? Even though I classify myself as a fashion terrorist, A.K.A. I suck at matching colors; fashion has always been a big part of my life.
I would say my personal style is defintiely neutral colors like black, white, grey, navy etc. I love me some skinny jeans, cropped pants, big knitted sweaters and hoodies. What about you guys?
I thought it would be fun to show you guys what’s trending in the fashion world this Fall of 2017, so let’s begin:
WOMAN’S FASHION TRENDS
Red, red, red. As you probably can tell walking into your local mall or department store, that red is the color of the season! Whether it’s in jackets, jumpers, sweaters, shirts, dresses, pants, or shoes; you’ll be seeing this color everywhere!
Mid-length skirts are also on trend carrying into the fall of 2017. As you can see above, bold colors and patterns are a huge part of it. It can be flowy or pleated, as long as it’s mid-length, it’s on trend!
Another big trend this fall is 70’s plaid! That’s right folks, 70’s plaid is the new plaid plaid. (You following?) So hop on over to your nearest vintage or second hand store and find that perfect 70’s plaid piece to add to your wardrobe this fall!
Lastly, one of the biggest trends carrying into fall this year is the couch florals! I love me some floral prints, so I’m glad we’re going to be seeing another season of them. Get your next floral piece in a pant, skirt, sweater or blouse! I’m telling you now, you won’t regret it!
MEN’S FASHION TRENDS
Like with the ladies, red is the color of the season for men as well. So bust out your brightest or darkest red in a sweater, pant, shoe, or jacket! You can easily pair this vibrant color with a strong neutral like khaki, black and white!
I am so excited for this on y’all! Turtlenecks are back and making a big splash on the fashion world. Who doesn’t like having a warm neck in the fall/winter and looking fashionable while wearing it? You better believe I will be picking some turtleneck sweater up this season!
Go call your grandma right now and tell her her favorite pattern is in fashion this fall! That’s right, quilted jackets are a nice piece to spice up your wardrobe this fall. I’ve already got mine in black willing and ready to use!
CROPPED PANTS! CROPPED PANTS! CROPPED PANTS! I just want all the cropped pants please. This trend is probably one of my favorites this season. It’s a great way to show off your new pair of shoes or a funky patterned sock. I have been cropping and rolling up my pant legs for a while now, so I am glad they are hitting the runways this season!
Jesse is a 20 something college student/server and dwells in Toronto, Canada. He enjoys reading about fantastical worlds, listening to KPOP, and being a couch potato.
What fashion trend are you most excited about? Are you a fashion terrorist like myself? Let me know in the comments below!
I love that red and couch florals are in trend! So beautiful!
I think a nice turtleneck looks great on men as well so I am happy about that!
Thanks for sharing. I love seeing what bloggers are passionate about besides books!

I love that you blog about fashion as well as books! Fashion is a hobby of mine, though it’s been taking a back seat since I’ve gotten into blogging, books and writing. I absolutely LOVE red and florals, so I am soooooooo happy that they are in this season! (I would probably wear those things anyway, but glad to know that at least I will at least be in style 🙂 I think my philosophy in style is that I dress however I want, no matter what is trendy or not. I don’t have the time or money to stay on top of trends haha, though I admire people who do!)

This post is amazing!! You are definitely not the only one who loves fashion and books! I am actually an English and Fashion double major in college, so I love both too!! And literally, my style is really neutral as well (mostly black and white haha)! And I am really excited about the 70s plaid trend this coming season 🙂

I couldn’t agree with you more! Fashion should be fun, and it should be a way in which you can express your individual self! And yes! I love turtlenecks too 🙂

PLAID! I love that this trend is back, same with the colour red. I tend to lean towards more neutral colours but I love a pop of colour in my attire every now and the.
