The first thing I received was a beautiful, signed copy of FROSTBLOOD by Elly Blake! It’s such a gorgeous cover, and I have an ARC of it too, so I guess the universe really wants me to read this one!

Inside the Uppercase was also a FROSTBLOOD magnet with a quote from the novel. I’m definitely going to put this up in my room!

I also received a piece of book seed paper which consists of an herb mix. I wasn’t too sure what this was at first, but I’ll go into this in my review!

My final and probably favorite piece was the Alice in Wonderland themed scarf, which is the Uppercase exclusive! I love Alice in Wonderland (especially since we share the same name), and I can’t wait to wear this around!

Also in this Uppercase (not pictured) was a bookmark where you can use the codes printed to visit the website and find questions, polls, and videos that relate to this book!

I’m really impressed with my first Uppercase! I really like the book choice as I’ve been eyeing FROSTBLOOD for a while now, and now I have the ARC and the finished copy, so I’m glad I have it to add to my book collection! The magnet is a nice touch, and I really appreciate it since it feels more substantial than other pieces of swag (though I do love bookmarks and postcards ngl). The book seed paper is probably the most interesting in this box. If you didn’t know what it was before, you plant the paper and it grows into a plant! In this box, I got the herb mix, so I’ll probably give this to my mom to try out!

Additionally, I love the Uppercase reading experience, in which you can see videos, polls, and other exclusive content! If you’re anything like me and it’s a struggle to buddy read or find someone else to talk to about a certain book, this is an awesome alternative. I always love to see exclusive content that relates to the book if you just need to get more, you know?

Overall, I’m very happy with this box. It was easy to open, and I love the additional note from Lisa (the creator of Uppercase) and the little bookish drawstring baggie. It just felt really personal and seemed like these choices were really thought out. This was my first book subscription box and I’m super pleased! If you haven’t yet subscribed, you definitely should! I’m definitely looking forward to next month’s Uppercase; I can’t wait to see what else is in store. If it’s anything like this month’s, I’ll be incredibly happy.

Thank you to Uppercase for providing me with this box in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all opinions are my own.

  1. I love Uppercase! I’ve been a subscriber to it for over a year now. I think it’s the best one (so far) out there. I’ve tried Owlcrate & others but this one still beats those. I like that the focus is on THE BOOK and not always the items that it comes with. As it should be, because I usually end up with junk from other boxes >.<
