Review: Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake | Blog Tour + Giveaway
Genre: YA Fantasy
Every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.
But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.
If only it was that simple. Katharine is unable to tolerate the weakest poison, and Arsinoe, no matter how hard she tries, can’t make even a weed grow. The two queens have been shamefully faking their powers, taking care to keep each other, the island, and their powerful sister Mirabella none the wiser. But with alliances being formed, betrayals taking shape, and ruthless revenge haunting the queens’ every move, one thing is certain: the last queen standing might not be the strongest…but she may be the darkest.

The BFF Book Tag
SETTING THE EXAMPLE: a pair/group of book bff’s that you love?
The golden trio (Harry/Hermione/Ron), of course!
CHILDHOOD BESTIE: Which book character would you like to grow up with?
I really love Jane and Edward from MY LADY JANE. Both of them have so much sass and I just adore them.
FRENEMY: Which book character would bring out your competitive side?
Safi from TRUTHWITCH. I feel like she has a lot of ambition, which I totally dig.
THE BAD INFLUENCE: Which character would you want to commit a small act of rebellion with? (Go skinny dipping, sneak into a movie, have a drag race with, etc.)
Adelina from THE YOUNG ELITES. I don’t know about you, but I ADORE her. She would go all out with the rebellions.
BLOOD BROTHERS: Which character who you want to be your surrogate big brother/sister? (You can do both if you want!)
Andie from THE UNEXPECTED EVERYTHING. She’s so similar to me so I think that we would get along!
MOTHER HEN: Which character would you want to be by your side when you’re having a bad day to cheer you up?
Lara Jean from TO ALL THE BOYS I’VE LOVED BEFORE. She’s so sweet and adorable; she’s the kind of person to bake sweets and bring you your favorite books/movies and sit with you if you’re feeling down.
THE COUNSELOR: Which character would you go to for relationship advice (or) confide a secret to?
Nyx from CRUEL BEAUTY. She seems to have a lot of tricks and good advice up her sleeve, so I think she would be a good choice!
MORE THAN FRIENDS: Who would be your book bf/gf/partner?
Definitely Warner from SHATTER ME! No question about it.
