6, er, 7 Month Blogoversary + Giveaways!

Hi everyone! So this post is LONG overdue. As you may see from the title, this is my blogoversary of a more than half a year!

I started my blog at the end of summer 2015. Since then, I’ve posted regularly and interacted with people on Goodreads, Twitter, you name it. Honestly, I can’t say how happy I am to interact with you and be part of such a welcoming and lovely bookish community.

So I’m not going to go into stats and details and such, but I definitely think I’m improving and spreading my influence, for lack of a better word, to the internet everyday.

I’m just really happy and appreciative of all of you and how much this community has changed me, for better and for worse.

So, in celebration and in thanks for commenting on my blog, interacting with me, talking about books and the like with me, here’s a little something, er, two little somethings, for you!

So this giveaway is going to be more fun than just those stereotypical “follow” and “leave a comment” sort of giveaways. Just kidding, there will be those in the giveaway but I’m adding something more exciting—it’s going to be a scavenger hunt! And I totally got inspiration from The Bits & Books blogoversary post (thank you, and happy blogoversary, Heather!).

P.S. This giveaway will be international if the Book Depository ships to you. Be sure to read my giveaway rules here.

So how do you play?

  • Below are clues for five different books I’ve written about on this blog. They’re books I have written posts about that are solely dedicated to that particular book, aka reviews. (Hint: You can use my review index to help you find the review post.) They’re also books that I really enjoyed reading and I hope you do too!
  • Once you figure out which book it is, you can enter in the Rafflecopter, telling me which book it is, including the title + author and a link to the blog post that was written about that book.

I hope that’s clear enough for you. If not, comment your question and I’ll try to get to it ASAP. If it is, let’s get started!

THE CLUES:

(I tried to make these clues sorta vague but also easy enough that y’all know what terms to search on my blog and such.)

Clue One:

This book is the first book I ever wrote a review for on this blog. It’s part of a trilogy and the final book is coming out this year, and it’s a alien/apocalyptic sort of book. The movie for the book also came out in January of 2016. P.S. If you do decide to read my review, please take note that I wrote this when I first started, so it sucks. The review I mean, not the book. (Don’t make fun of me.)

Clue Two:

This book is one of my absolute favorites. It is a dystopian-romance, and one of the first YA books that really got me into reading and blogging. It’s been hyped up so much, and the author’s upcoming release is a middle-grade novel. I’m going to give away the identity of this book with this fact, but I don’t care; I adore one of the main characters, Warner. (He OWNS my ass.)

Clue Three:

This book is published by HarperTeen in 2016 and is a retelling of Sherlock and Watson, but with a twist! It’s set in modern times, in a boarding school in Connecticut. I really enjoyed reading this one, and it has a super gorgeous cover!

Clue Four:

I really adored this book. It’s a loose retelling of Rapunzel, and it features the lost princess as a blind girl. This book was fascinating and romantic, and it’s short enough (a little over 200 pages) that you can probably finish reading it in less than a day.

Clue Five:

This book is hands down one of my favorites of this year! It has a blue/green/yellow cover, and it follows the story of a boy who gets occasionally kidnapped by aliens. The main character is also part of the LGBTQ+ community, so that’s also a plus! This book gave me so many existential crises, and I loved every moment of it.

Which book(s) would you choose? Why did you start blogging, if you currently do?

  1. Happy Blogoversary! I think you are doing a terrific job so far. I hope you have many more years of blogging ahead. I think your scavenger hunt was fun. What book would I choose? Tough choice. I’d love to own The Wrath and the Dawn or Darken the Stars by Amy Bartol. Thank you so much.

  4. I am another new reader who is happy to join in celebrating the existence of this content-rich blog! Thank you for this generous opportunity. I am not exactly sure which book I would choose. I have a prioritized wishlist (not 1,2,3…but with different levels of priority), so I’d want to find the high priority book I’m most inclined to obtain immediately which falls within the stated budget. 🙂 Browsing The Book Depository site now, I see a great bargain: The Deptford Trilogy by Robertson Davies in paperback for around 16 bucks. That’s three novels in one! I read the first book in the trilogy as a teen and thought it was incredible. I’ve been wanting to return to this old favorite and follow through with the series. So, that’s one option that seems very tempting now…:-)

Enjoy your reading and writing, and I wish you many happy returns!
