We all love books, but we also have other passions. Mine, for example, is music! I play the violin, I used to play clarinet, and I’m currently learning guitar! For this mini-challenge, I’m putting together a playlist (one of my favorite non-bookish things to do) to pair up with two of my favorite books: Shatter Me and I’ll Give You the Sun! Check it out!
I’ll Give You the Sun

Goodreads
Jude and her twin brother, Noah, are incredibly close. At thirteen, isolated Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic boy next door, while daredevil Jude cliff-dives and wears red-red lipstick and does the talking for both of them. But three years later, Jude and Noah are barely speaking. Something has happened to wreck the twins in different and dramatic ways . . . until Jude meets a cocky, broken, beautiful boy, as well as someone else—an even more unpredictable new force in her life. The early years are Noah’s story to tell. The later years are Jude’s. What the twins don’t realize is that they each have only half the story, and if they could just find their way back to one another, they’d have a chance to remake their world.
This radiant novel from the acclaimed, award-winning author ofThe Sky Is Everywhere will leave you breathless and teary and laughing—often all at once.
Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.
The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.
The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.
This was so cool! Loved it. One of my non-bookish passions is playing violin 🙂

This is such a cute ‘a-thon’! You play the violin? That is so cool! I used to play before, but I just didn’t have time to practice. Great playlists!

I did the same thing for my Mix & Match post because music is my biggest passion outside of reading I made a playlist for Ugly Love.
I haven’t read I’ll Give You the Sun Yet, but I like all of those songs! I love your picks for Shatter Me, especially New Americana and the PATD songs.

OMG, THESE PLAYLISTS ARE PERFECT!! We have such similar music tastes, and these songs fit these books so much. Here and Ghost are perfect for IGYTS, and your picks for Shatter Me are amazing. I play clarinet too! 😀

WHOA WHOA WHOA. You play multiple musical instruments? THAT IS SO COOL. Ahem. I also really enjoyed seeing your playlists for both books. But I have to say that I really like the one for I’ll Give You the Sun! 😀

Mixing music and books is great! I can’t listen to music when I am reading though, because I prefer silence or background noise, like in a coffee shop 🙂
Nice blog!
